Day 4- Cascade Falls

Our last day in Durango we went on a hike for 5 1/2 hours (an 8 mile round trip)!! I didn't know if we were going to make it. We made a last minute decision to hike up to Cascade Waterfalls about 30 minutes outside of Durango and we only had 3 bottles of water and no food. I am very, very out of shape and when the fly fisherman up the trail told us it would be another four miles I did get a bit faint hearted, but we weren't going to give up! After countless feet of lush flowering meadows and steep aspens we heard the waterfall. It wasn't huge, but is was pretty. Josh and Mike ran ahead to see if there was another waterfall before we headed straight back and there was! Josh said it was 5 times as big and he was right! We came to the top of a 50-75 foot waterfall that would make you weak at the knees to look over. There were beautiful pools at the bottom but we were running out of time and energy to hike. We made it back and were all ready to get in the hot tub one last time...
Vacation is over and it's time to get back to work on albums and weddings!
